WHY PREGNANT WOMEN LIKE TO EAT STRANGE THINGS

 Are there any of you like to eat weird foods during pregnancy or wonder why pregnant women like to eat weird foods? According to some scientists, there are 50-90% of women like to eat strange things like raw meat, limes, pickles,… or things that even have no nutritions during pregnancy. 1. ICE

An answer to this is women, who lack blood red cells, like to chew ice because it helps them ease mouth inflammation (a common symptom of lacking blood red cells).

3. SPICY FOODS

Why spicy dishes? Because these foods make the body sweat which helps to cool down body’s heat. According to Mrs. Kristen N.Burris – a professional acupuncturist, women have wants to have spicy foods whenever their immune systems are weakened.

4. PICKLES

Some said that pregnant woman want to eat pickles because they are lacking salt, but there’re still no scientific proofs for this situation. Maybe they just want to eat something salty, crunchy, fresh and sour.

5. FRENCH FRIES

The same as pickles, they are said to provide salt but maybe pregnant women just want to have salty, crispy and they think about fries right away.

6. FRUITS

Maybe because the mom’s blood sugar levels is low. Sometimes, it’s because they want their babies to have enough nutritions and fruits like grapes or watermelons can provide a large amount of vitamin C.

7. LIMES/LEMONS

Some pregnant women can eat a whole lime/lemon or add tons of its juice into their drinks. The fact is during pregnancy, there’s a big change in their taste so it’s just that they want to shock their new taste with spicy or sour things to ease the morning sickness.

9. BEANS AND VEGGIES

It’s because the mother is lacking magnesium and those types of vegetables contain a lots of fiber, magnesium.

10. RED MEAT

Red meat is rich in proteins and irons which can make pregnant women want to eat. Mothers can choose the tenderloin or the round steak instead of the sirloin steak.

11. SALT

An increase in blood volume changes women’s need of salt. While pregnancy, try to avoid using salt in processed food because it might exceed your need of salt or contain other unexpected ingredients.

12. VINEGAR

Like eating limes or lemons, they want to shock their new taste with spicy or sour things to ease the morning sickness.
