MAKE SIMPLE TOMATO SAUCE FOR FAMILY MEAL

If you don’t trust the quality of the ketchup sauce outside the supermarket, follow this simple recipe for a great tomato sauce for all home-made dishes.

1. Ingredients for making a simple tomato sauce for a family meal:

Choose medium-ripe tomatoes,  which is a prerequisite for a delicious tomato sauce.

3.6kg ripe tomatoes 

60ml lemon juice

4 basil leaves (optional)

2. How to make simple tomato sauce for family meals:

– Wash tomatoes, remove stems, cut not too small pieces.

– Add 1/4 tomatoes to the pot, set on the stove to simmer, when the tomatoes boil, crush them. You can use a potato crusher to grind tomatoes, which is very convenient. If you don’t have this equipment, you can use a large spoon to grind it.

TOMATOES

– After grinding, add 1/4 of the tomatoes to the pot, keep boiling over high heat and continue to grind. Do it one after the other, let the pot simmer for another 5 minutes.

– If you have a food processor, pour tomato juice into the grind thoroughly, otherwise you filter through the sieve to remove the remaining tomato skin and seeds.

– Take the tomato juice you just filtered back into the pot, bring to a boil, then lower the heat to simmer for 40-50 minutes more.

– Boil and dry the glass jars, add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to each jar.

– Pour hot tomato sauce into the jars, make sure you do not refill but leave 1cm to the jars! Let cool, cover and store tomato ketchup in the refrigerator compartment.

– If you use basil leaves, drop 1 leaf per jar at this time!
