With the recipe for making apple jam at home, it will help your family have a sweet apple jam dish to ensure good health during the New Year.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Green small apple: 1kg
  • Yellow sugar: 600g
  • Alum: 1 teaspoon
  • Quicklime: 50g

DIRECTIONS:

  • Wash apples and poke some holes on those apples.
  • Dissolve quicklime in water. Soak poked apples in this water for 10-15hrs then wash under fresh water till all the quicklime smell is gone.
  • Dissolve alum with 2l of water then bring to a boil. Add apples, cook for 1-2mins and then wash under fresh water.
  • Mix apples and sugar then stir under low heat till the mixture becomes thick, apples are chewy. Let them dry under the sun or with a 100oC set oven for 40-60mins 
  • Wait for them to cool off and they are ready to be served.
