Amazing useful tips you can do with banana peels

Sounds weird, right? But actually, it’s not! This is probably one of the most common fruits found in India and that is also probably why we don’t really relish it as much. But before throwing the banana peel into the bin, read this post to know its benefits. It will give you amazing results.

1. Sparkling teeth

This is the most effective and easiest way to sparkle your teeth. Research shows that the minerals in the banana peel, such as potassium and bromine, help whiten the teeth naturally without leaving damage. Cut the peel into little pieces, rub the inner part of the banana in circular motions on the teeth for 2-3 minutes and then don’t touch for 15 minutes (don’t eat, drink or rinse). Then rinse well. In a few weeks of this daily treatment, you will see great results.

2.  Shining shoes

If you happen to be out of shoe polish, don’t worry. After you’ve finished eating the banana, use the peel. Remove the remnants of the banana from within and then rub the inside of the peel on your shoe. To finish, use a paper towel.

3. Dissolve Warts

Banana peels have antioxidants and various enzymes that can safely get rid of warts – they even help fight off the wart-causing virus.

1. Cut a bit of banana peel that is slightly larger than your wart.

2. Place the inside of the peel against the wart.

3. Secure it in place using some tape or a bandage.

4. Leave it there overnight.

5. Remove peel the next morning.

6. Repeat this for a few weeks, or until the wart has gone.

4. Feed indoor plants

Banana peel can also be a good fertilizer for plants. Soak a banana peel in a large jar of water, then combine one part of the resulting banana peel water with five parts of regular water in a watering can to fertilize indoor plants. In addition, placing banana peels on flower pots is one of the useful flower caring tips.

5. Remove aphids

Aphids can be very annoying when they attack your flowers and garden. Take a few pieces of banana peel and bury them about 1-2 cm deep around the base of the plant. Do NOT use the fruit itself, or else you will attract even more hungry insects.

6. Attract butterflies and birds

Put peels from overripe bananas on a raised platform in the garden and watch them flock to the sweetness. Beware that bees and wasps may be attracted as well.

7. Shine Up Houseplants

Rub the soft fleshy side of a banana peels on the leaves of your houseplants to clean off and dust or debris and give them a healthy glow. This is especially handy for indoor plants with waxy leaves like Scheffleras, Calatheas, Crotons, and Ficus trees.

8. Get rid of night butterflies

Because butterflies or caterpillars are so easily attracted to sugar contained in banana peels. By this way, you can easily catch unwanted insects in your home.

9. Tenderize meat

Add a ripe banana peel to a roasting pan to keep boneless, skinless cuts of meat from toughening up and drying out during cooking.

10. Purify water

Many studies shown that banana peels absorb toxin from highly polluted rivers. The main reason for this is due to the fact that they contain a number of acids and other molecules capable of purifying hydrogen and oxygen. Specifically, banana peels contain sulfur, nitrogen, carboxylic acid and other atoms that function pretty much the same way magnets do in terms of attracting heavy metals.

With all great benefits of banana peels we mentioned above, hope you apply all useful tricks for the next time!
