3 THINGS TO START THE DAY ON THE RIGHT FOOT

Many of us are busy, have a lot of responsibilities and obligations, and often feel strapped for time. Having a great morning routine can make all the difference in being productive, achieving goals, feeling organized, and doing all of this with confidence. 1.Yoga

Waking up and flowing through some sun salutations is a great way to set the tone for the day ahead. Studies have shown its effectiveness for reducing anxiety, and a few easy poses in the early morning can help you get into a positive frame of mind for the day ahead. “Doing yoga first thing in the morning increases energy and focus throughout the day,” says yoga teacher Jess Penesso, founder of The Sweat Method.  “The purpose of yoga is to still the mind, so a morning yoga practice can quiet that mental chatter for more clarity.” Try starting the day with a Vinyasa flow, or doing cardio yoga to boost your heart rate and endorphins so you can start the day feeling strong.

2.Meditation

It’s easy to burst right into the morning rush without taking a moment to breathe. Meditation allows you to take a purposeful pause and soak up the stillness before busyness sets in. Meditation doesn’t just reduce stress. It also helps you gain mastery over your mind, making it easier to maintain focus and say no to distractions. Just 4 days of mindful meditation can improve your ability to sustain attention, according to one study, and the positive effects extend beyond the mindful moment. A Harvard researcher found that the brain activity in people who learned to mediate stayed steady, even when performing everyday tasks.

3.Reading

By reading in the morning, you carve out some ‘you’ time in which you can work on your self-improvement – google image

By reading in the morning, you carve out some ‘you’ time in which you can work on your self-improvement and on your goals. This is incredibly powerful, as it becomes harder and harder to work on your self-improvement later on in the day. You’ll start your day inspired and motivated, you’ll gain valuable new insights and ideas that you can implement right away, and you’ll accelerate your personal growth.. Aside from being really pleasant, a 2016 study found that reading might even increase longevity in people over 50 years old (and there’s nothing wrong with getting an early start).

This whole routine takes about 30 to 40 minutes, so you can easily fit it in before you start your  workday. It will help you feel more accomplished beyond just getting your work done, and improves your clarity all day long. If you are consistent about doing this every day, You will feel more focused and mentally healthier. If you are needing some help creating boundaries and structure working from home, give this free, quick and easy morning routine a try.
